The startup incubator for three-dimensional mobility brigkAIR organized a product demonstration together with three startups from its network. The companies HIVE Systems, Kontrol and Spleenlab presented their developments in the field of unmanned aviation.
Die Entwicklung der dreidimensionalen Mobilität gewinnt duThe development of three-dimensional mobility is becoming more and more important due to federal and state-wide funding programs. The topic is also receiving more and more attention in Region 10. This should be further promoted with the help of product presentations from HIVE Systems, Kontrol and Spleenlab. In addition, the startups had the opportunity to present themselves and their products in front of a selected audience consisting of representatives from politics, business and the press. After a short welcome and the subsequent demonstration of the respective products, the startups and brigkAIR invited to an open question / answer session. During the final networking, there was then the opportunity to have an individual conversation.
With the HIVE of the same name, HIVE Systems from Nuremberg has developed a drone docking station. The HIVE is an autonomously working drone hangar with a special HIVE battery kit. The HIVE is suitable for all types of drones. These can be converted to the HIVE battery pack and are immediately ready for use. The HIVE thus combines a take-off, landing and battery exchange platform: Drones are ready to go after just three minutes and, depending on the application, are equipped with special cameras, sensors or even radar. Possible areas of application of the HIVE are plant security, fire protection, measurements and inspections, but also environmental protection.
Kontrol focuses on the formal verification of the behavior and movement planning of autonomous systems. Formal verification is a methodology for the mathematical proof of the result and the correctness of computer algorithms on the basis of predefined specifications. This core technology is considered very relevant in the context of autonomous systems such as automobiles or aircraft. The aim of Kontrol is to develop a technology that increases safety and creates the legal framework for autonomous vehicles.
With the help of artificial intelligence (AI) and the use of various fused sensors such as cameras, laser scanners and radars, Spleenlab wants to enable the safe, autonomous flight of drones and air taxis. Safety-critical applications such as “Sense and Avoid” (collision avoidance) and “Ground Rist Estimation” run directly on the drone in real time. The company works individually and integratively with aviation OEMs, but also completes the portfolio with customizable or preconfigured VISIONAIRY®CUBEs. With AI, the company is developing highly efficient technology applications that enable a flight without a pilot or a GPS signal.
The three young companies are also active among themselves in joint projects. For example, HIVE Systems, Kontrol and Spleenlab work together to enable the certification of flights outside the field of vision (BVLOS). As part of this development, systems are being developed to avoid collisions in air traffic. In professional circles this is called “Sense and Avoid Technology”.
