Start-up festival STROMAUFWÄRTS inspires the region 10

The digital startup center brigk of the Ingolstadt region hosted the STROMAUFWÄRTS startup festival at the Kavalier Dalwigk from May 13 to 14, 2022. The event was attended by renowned experts, including Judith Gerlach, Bavarian State Minister for Digital Affairs, author and speaker Sascha Lobo, and Manuel Baum,Bundesliga coach at FC Augsburg and Schalke 04, soccer expert and entrepreneur.

Entrepreneur is not a title or a profession, it is more a feeling, an attitude, a way of life. Entrepreneurship means being open to new things, being different, simply rolling up one’s sleeves and getting started, living ideas, turning a little into a lot – just as numerous founders do every day. For their idea and their enterprise they are ready to swim against the river – upstream. With the STROMAUFWÄRTS founders’ festival of the same name, brigk has provided a stage for the founding spirit of Region 10.

Interesting short presentations, Q&A sessions and panel discussions

Every year, around 4,000 businesses are registered in the city of Ingolstadt and the neighboring districts of Pfaffenhofen, Eichstätt and Neuburg-Schrobenhausen. Around 50 of these young companies build their business models on innovative, highly scalable, digital solutions. Even though the business ideas differ, the teams are driven by very similar aspects of being a founder: Financing, funding, marketing, sales and much more.

The founders’ festival STROMAUFWÄRTS took up precisely these topics and discussed them with the help of short lectures, question rounds and panel discussions. Well-known guests were represented: For example, Bavarian Minister of State for Digital Affairs Judith Gerlach not only talked about the importance of digitization, but also a bit from her everyday work, and multiple founder Franziska von Hardenberg went into detail about the role of branding and marketing in building a new company. Speaker and author Sascha Lobo, together with brigk CEO Dr. Franz Glatz and Lutz Morich, shed light on digitization as a driver of innovative business models.

On Friday, May 13, 2022, both the professional audience, founders and those interested in startups were present, who were able to take away new impulses for entrepreneurs and the startup region 10. After two exciting rounds of talks in the circle of true experts in these fields on the topics of financing options for startups and funding, the participants could strengthen themselves briefly.

The program then went into the second round with an interview between Franziska von Hardenberg and Manuel Knill on the topic of brand building & branding for startups. This was followed by Sales Hacks for Startups by Michael Oldenburger, an exciting panel discussion around the topic of digitalization with speaker Sascha Lobo, brigk CEO Dr. Franz Glatz and founder Lutz Morich. The megatrend digitalization – how could it be otherwise – was also the topic in the interview between Marc Erras and Bavarian Digital Minister Judith Gerlach. In addition to many exciting inputs, the participants also had the opportunity to find customers or investors and to exchange ideas with like-minded people and existing companies.

Immersion in the start-up scene

True to the motto “Enter the Entrepreneurship”, STROMAUFWÄRTS offered everyone the opportunity to immerse themselves in Ingolstadt’s start-up scene on Saturday, May 14, 2022. On this day, a varied program attracted over 500 visitors to the Kavalier Dalwigk. Of course, there were also exciting discussion rounds on Saturday, for example on the topic of coworking or why Region 10 invites people to start up.

In addition to a Bible reading by Dr. Franz Glatz and the inspiring founder’s story by Thomas Hirsch, there was also a raffle and guided tours of the old fortress building for the visitors. The official part was completed by the interview between Lisa Hümmer and Bundesliga coach Manuel Baum. STOMAUFWÄRTS was the first and also unique opportunity to visit the Kavalier Dalwigk as the new home of digital startups in Ingolstadt. In the evening, the extravagant lighting of the Kavalier Dalwigk as well as the beats of Tesflour Music invited to a party on the roof terrace, which was a fitting end to the founder festival STROMAUFWÄRTS.

The Digital Startup Center of the region looks back on two days full of #INFORMATION, #MOTIVATION and #INSPIRATION. We would like to thank the 31 experts who shared their years of expertise at the STROMAUFWÄRTS startup festival and over 500 visitors who found their way to the Kavalier Dalwigk. This much can be said, it will not have been the last Founders’ Festival. In this sense: See you next time.
