The past is home to the future – ceremonial opening of the brigk in the Kavalier Dalwigk

Six years after applying for a digital incubator in Ingolstadt, brigk is finally moving into its final home. The grand opening of the Kavalier Dalwigk took place on May 12, 2022 in the new event location, the Trafohaus, in front of numerous representatives from politics, business and science.

Moving into the Cavalier Dalwigk

Against the backdrop of advancing digitization and the accompanying structural change, Region 10, under the responsibility of the City of Ingolstadt, applied for a Digital Business Incubator in May 2016. The decision to establish the center was already made when the Kavalier Dalwigk was chosen as the site. Six years later, almost to the day, the time has come – brigk is moving into its final location.

Even the name of the digital start-up center brigk is a commitment to the cavalier Dalwigk, which is built from visible creek stones. The name and the brand image convey a sense of location and future orientation. These themes were also taken into account during the conversion and renovation work.

Remnants of walls and foundations from different eras were integrated into the open space design, reinterpreted and continued in a contemporary use. With the arrival of brigk, the building, which had lain derelict since 1991, has now been brought back to life.

The brigk Makerspace also moves to Kavalier Dalwigk

Das Kavalier Dalwigk beheimatet aktuell 16 Startups. Darunter alle, die auch schon am Interimsstandort im Koboldblock in der Innenstadt tätig waren. Zusätzlich sind auch weitere Startups hinzugekommen. Doch damit nicht genug – Am Fuße des Kavalier Dalwigks siedelt sich im Juli 2022 auch der brigk Makerspace an. Die offene Hightech-Werkstatt bietet vom Lasercutter, über 3D-Drucker bis hin zur Fräsmaschine alles an Spezial-Werkzeugen, Profi- Geräten und Maschinen. Damit sind das brigk und der brigk Makerspace erstmalig an einem zentralen Ort vereint.

Die feierliche Eröffnung des brigk im Kavalier Dalwigk fand mit zahlreichen Vertreterinnen und Vertretern aus Politik, Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft im Trafohaus, dem neuen Eventspace statt. Neben Grußworten von brigk Geschäftsführer Dr. Franz Glatz, Oberbürgermeister Dr. Christian Scharpf, Aufsichtsratsvorsitzende Dr. Dorothea Deneke-Stoll und Roland Weigert, Staatssekretär im Bayerischen Staatsministerium für Wirtschaft, Landesentwicklung und Energie. Nach den Reden fand noch eine kleine Podiumsdiskussion mit Prof. Dr. Walter Schober, Präsident der Technischen Hochschule Ingolstadt, Elke Christian, Leiterin der IHK- Geschäftsstelle Ingolstadt und David Neuhaus, Gründer und CEO von SocialHub GmbH statt. Nach dem offiziellen Teil hatten die Gäste die Möglichkeit das historische Gebäude von innen zu erkunden.
